Maaveeran Movie Review :

Film: Maaveeran
Starring: Ram Charan,Kajal Aggarwal,Srihari Devgil and Others
Director: SS Raja Mouli
Producer: Allu Aravind
Banner: Geetha Arts
Music: Keeravani
Rating : 2.75/5
Story:
Harsha (Ram Charan) is a young chap who makes money out of bike races and bets. He loves to do adventures on two wheelers. One fine day while traveling he happens to touch the hand of a young girl Indu (Kajal) accidentally and that soul touch connects his present to the past.
What’s the past?
The story happens in the year 1609. Raja Parthiban (Ram Charan Teja) is the protector of Udayghad kingdom. Mitra (Kajal Agarwal) – the heir princess Udayghad kingdom falls in love with him for his bravery. But the Senadhipathi Randheer (Dev Gil) who is a nephew of the king wants to marry her and take over the Kingdom.
In a challenge, Raja Parthiban defeats Billa. Besides this, a Muslim emperor Sher Khan (Srihari) plans to take over Udayghad kingdom with the help of Billa. In an epic battle, Raja Parthiban saves the kingdom and also gets killed along with the princess.
After 400 years they take rebirth as Harsha and Indu and many characters like Sher Khan, Randheer and others from the past comes to present with the soul connectivity.
How do they trace themselves back to the past? How Harsha takes revenge on Billa and win his lady love in this birth?
That has to be watched on big screen to unleash those queries along with spectacular experience.
Performances:
Ram Charan Teja: Undoubtedly, he stood as an icon of macho look. His portrayed the role of Raja Parthiban convincingly and effortlessly. His horse riding, sword fighting, dances are spellbinding. With Maaveeran he created a brand value for himself in Kollywood.
Kajal: Kajal Agarwal is the surprise pack of this film. She is the perfect fit to the role of a charming princess. Kajal is one factor that works hugely in favor of the movie. The Telugu directors show her better looking on screen than Tamil.
Dev Gill: Bollywood villain Dev Gill has proved his mettle with his sharp features. Especially during the past birth role he excelled.
Others in the film have also done justice to their respective roles.
Director Rajamouli should be appreciated for his guts to bring such a massive film on Telugu screen. The director’s handling of telling the story interesting narration makes the audiences glued to the screens. Screenplay is good. Rajamouli’s convincing concept of a love story that penetrates eras and generations is excellent.
Maaveeran deserves appreciation for sound effects, graphics, 3D effects, Senthil Kumar’s path-breaking cinematography and Venkateswara Rao Kotagiri’s editing harmonizes. Art direction by Ravinder is splendid. Action sequences composed by Peter Hynes are excellent. Tamil Dialogues by K Bhagyaraj are in perfect synchronization with the lips but not with chronology all the time. Every technical aspect has rightly worked on this film.
On a whole, Maaveeran’s opening episode is superb. First half of the movie is pleasant and second half is decent and is the soul of the film. Maaveeran is a good entertainer that can be enjoyed by all section of audiences. The film can be watched by the Tamil audience as there is a lack of an equally entertaining release in Tamil.
Quick Take: Can be watched for its technical brilliance!!
Eththan Movie Review :

Film: Eththan
Starring: Vimal, Sanusha, Mano Bala, M S Baskar and others
Director: Suresh
Producer: Nazir
Banner: Sherali Films
Music: Taj Noor
Movie Rating : 1.75/5
After the stupendous success of Kalavani and Thoonga Nagaram, Vimal is coming up with Eththan, which he has powerful role. Eththan will be a feel-good story with humor. Eththan deals with a sensitive subject of today's reckless youth and Vimal is featured as a carefree youngster who lives life in his own way. The changes which make him turn good forms the crux of the story. The film was shot in 60 days and the story and the music of the film stand as highlighting factor.
Eththan Story:
Sathyamurthy a.k.a. Sathya (Vimal) hails from a spiritual background family and his father Jayaprakash is a religious instructor in Kumbakonam. Sathya completes his studies in Madurai and returns to his place to start his own business. In this process he starts borrowing money from all quarters but his business runs in losses and he almost drowns into debts. An attempt to start new projects but this puts him into more trouble as they end unsuccessful.
A series of incidents leads to Selvi's (Sanusha) gold chain coming into Sathya's hands which he guarantees it with his uncle for money by lying that it was his lover's. This generates misunderstanding in Selvi's family, which leads Selvi to elope fearing of a forced marriage. Ultimately, Sathya becomes responsible to make sure Selvi escapes from troubles as he is the reason who created all confusion in her family. Stay tuned the film doesn’t drop The End title over here.
Will Sathya accepts to save Selvi? How Sathya overcomes all his troubles? Do they end up falling in love or not? Forms the crux of the film.
Performances:
Vimal played his role well and he did justice to his character Sathya. His performance in few scenes must be appreciated as he improved his skills in acting a lot.
Sanusha looked simple and cute. She carried the role with dignity and is the right fit for the role of Selvi.
Singam Puli struggled to create humor. The show stealer is Jaya Prakash as he has gone into the skin of the role.
Mano Bala, M.S Bhasker, Ilavarasu are adequate.
Director Suresh has done a good job.
Taj Noor music is okay and especially a song with lyrics written in reverse is good.
On a whole, the first half of the film is okay while the second half is racy and entertaining.
Quick Take: Eththan is Kalavani- 2
Pagalavan--vijay
According to sources looks like he is going to do a movie with Director Seeman and the film is titled as “Kobam”. Its earlier titled as ‘Pagalavan’. But the director made an immediate change in the title. Well official confirmation about the cast and crew of this film is yet to be made.
The script of this film has been ready since two years but did not take off for various reasons. But all that is history now. Vijay will start working for 'Pagalavan' after he wraps up 'Nanban' and 'Velayudham.'
With many government organizations getting privatized, if this trend continues the nation will have to dance to the tunes of the rich and the affluent. This being the backdrop Vijay will appear in this film as a bold and outgoing youngster who will be seen fighting for his rights as well as that of his peers.
The director of the film is positive that this film will be a milestone in Vijay’s career. Seeman is working on certain aspects of the film to suit Vijay.
This film has two heroines. The director is busy finalizing the heroines. Since no names have been finalized yet it leaves us wondering if it will be a known face acting opposite Vijay or whether a debutante will find herself acting opposite Vijay. We will let you know soon as to who will share screen space opposite 'Ilaya Thalapathi.'
The director also recently revealed that 'Pagalavan' will start rolling in a couple of months!
